Yayana Reunited

Yayana reunited or should I say Yayanaa reunited. Nulkar's in town after almost 3 years. Yayanaa met last weekend and did a hike to Sinhagad. I regret not having been able to make it...
Life is SSDD right now. Same Shit Different Day. And i am dead bored of the same routine...
I need a relaxing change. Hope this weekend has better in store...
cling on man cling on....

Montag : Drei und Zwanzig Januar

Met up khindi and dhaniya last week. khindi after a long time. Had a good chat about what we have been doing for the last 3 years. He's left his old company and joined a anti-virus company. (Now don't mind me sayin that khindi ... ;-)). Talked about me being engaged and all that, about dhaniya's endeavours in kpp (Kanda Pohe Program). Talked about nk and nulkar (aka goti aka dada nulkar).
Khindi told me to go read his blog, so I did. Now he says if i don't answer those stupid
questions in the name of being a good sport, yamaha will be called ahamay and we all will have to be men in black next year.

So here it goes...

Jan is here

Hmmm long time since I wrote. Last couple of weeks were hectic.

Shraddha was here for new year. Had a good time at Manas. The DJ was not that great. Neither was the food. But had a good time... Would have been a better thing to go to Jazz by the Bay. Saw Bluff Master. Good one by Abhishek. I am not a big fan of his though.

So new year is here. Resolutions and all. I am gonna be watching my weight all of 06. Have to go down 5-6 kgs still... Going to be damn tough. Especially with all the 'kelvans' (A typical custom in Maharashtrian tradition. When you get engaged, folks and relatives give you a lunch/dinner treat. Now you know what I mean ;-)) I am attending lately. I attended one at my sister's place on the 25th last month. They had 5 types of sweets (called 'panchapakvaan'). phew ! and the persuasion... Telling me that I lost weight. I mean I have to :-)

Dada Nulkar's going to be in town next weekend. Should be good fun. Hope Yogesh can make it to Pune some time. Haven't got a chance to unwind with friends for a long time. Did that last in earlier this year. Went to H'bad to Yogesh for the weekend. It was good fun. H'bad has changed a lot though. Pretty different from what I saw as a child going to primary school. Buddha's back in the middle of tank bund. Great statue. There's this new food court along the banks of tank bund. Great place to spend the evening in the cool breeze. Saw H'bad central. Huge Mall. Pune's got one of those now. It's called Pune central.

Took part in a programming contest on thurday. 2 more partners: Aniket and Samir. 5 problems in 2.45 minutes approx. Took the first prize. Expecting to get a prize from Mr. CEO himself. Should be a good thing to write on the resume...

Its cool in Pune

Got down at Shivajinagar yest morning and saw the temperature at the weather office. Minimum is 6.3 deg. C. Man that's cold. Winter at its peak in Pune. Riding a motorcycle can be real fun :-) in this weather, especially when you don't have protection for your ears and hands.
Then beating the chill by sipping a cutting chai at the typical pune tea shops called 'amrutatulya' ( meaning 'elixir') and an occasional cigarette.

Now is the right time to go on a weekend trek... Now is the time...

Thursday. Home early today

It was a rather lazy day today, with not much work to do. That damned amd 64 bit box... glibc gives me a corrupt doubly linked list error when i try to malloc. Somebody screwed up something real bad. Was browsing the net today afternoon. Saw a cool set of Bose speakers. Ought to buy them sometime. I had heard Bose at the Jordan mall on route 9 Framingham. Awesome stuff. The lifestyle audio system from Bose is real drool maal.

Folks at office are enjoying a festival of fun and games. It's purposefully held in December, since most of the clients are on vacation.

A couple of my group folks came over to my desk today evening. They wanted me to participate in dumb c.. boring stuff. Don't feel like doing all that nowadays. Don't know why? This year I won't take a stall in the fete either.

I was glued to the headphones all day. First Phil Collins, then Richard Marx.
Phil's songs have some great orchestration. True Colors, Father to Son, Colors.
Right here waiting for you... soothing music.

Its kinda chilly here today. Typical december evening in Pune. I am drinking tea while I write this. It's Friday tomorrow. Shraddha's gonna be in town. Should be a good time.

Boring wednesday afternoon...

Adya got married on the 3rd. Yogesh and Mamata were here from hyderabad. Gotya was all charged up to go to copenhagen for a week. Must be really cold up there. Met mahya. He's getting married some time soon. Nilu was cool as usual... enjoying his life and getting teased about sleeping in the afternoons... :-) Jezz made a roaring entry... and late as usual :-). We asked him if he got his wallet along... We got a card for Adya... And wrote stuff on it with a 'slant' and indentation, to honour his notebook writing style during BCS days at M.D's math class...
Had a good time.

Then the next day we met again at yogesh's place. Had lots of bedekar misal and had kondalkar's mastani for dessert. It was good fun.

Hmmm.. boring wednesday afternoon. Just finished a set of checkins... 2 more to go on my plate..Don't feel like working today. Want to laze around in the afternoon sun, sipping a cup of coffee and some good music... n have a chat with shraddha.
dunno about a chance to do that soon..
